MEMORY: My confinement in my first birth...

Today is the 46th day I gave birth - which means that I have completed one day of abstinence. Talking about the abstinence routine, it left a useful experience for me. Even though many people say abstinence after giving birth is tiring, but for me abstinence once, let me be serious because the results are good and the benefits are long-term. One of them, within 44 days I managed to lose 20kg

compared to before birth (last weight during pregnancy). Now I have returned to my original weight. Alhamdulillah..

Basically the abstinence process is to drink root water, berpilis, beparam, bengkung, bertungku and tangas. The abstinence process is very good to do for

restore the health of the mother's body as before. However, the help of family members, especially the husband, is very important so that the abstinence process can be done smoothly, be aware of the presence of small children.

Best of all, self-care starts as soon as you give birth to your first child. Women who do not take good care of their bodies after giving birth, themselves are also the losers. Especially during the 44-day confinement period after giving birth if possible avoid going out of the house such as watching movies, shopping and traveling long distances. The effects will only be noticeable after a few years such as the body can't, lethargy, the stomach is always full of gas, easy to lethargy, pale face, loose bowels, quick discharge and bad smell during intercourse, impaired vision and worst of all, the bowels are out of place (testicles).

The husband, on the other hand, needs to be tolerant to ensure that the mother's internal health is fully recovered before interfering with the wife. Even though I have the right to be together after childbirth, for me it is still dangerous because my wife's womb and childbirth are still in the healing process. Even if you look physically healthy, the wounds inside take time to truly heal.

Here I list the abstinence practices that I have experienced and know. I deliberately take note of every tip and routine. My hope for the next birth, God willing, can be done at home without bothering the parents in the village.

1. Don't drink a lot, just three sips at a time and only hot water. Drinking too much water causes the placenta to fuse together slowly.

2. If you eat rice, take a handful that is still hot.


3. Practice drinking decoction of wood roots, decoction of ginger with black pepper, herbal medicine for childbirth; and grind, mash or boil manjakani seeds and drink the water. Manjakani seeds are good for preventing vaginal discharge during future pregnancies.


4. It is strictly forbidden to drink iced drinks and soybeans.


5. Avoid eating guava, beans, pineapple, some creeping plants, jackfruit, pumpkin, and cold rice because they cool the body. Guava is always associated with Vitamin C which is cold. After all, this food causes too much watery labor while with my husband.


6. Avoid itchy foods such as seafood, eggs, and chicken due to the fear of internal wounds festering.


7. Recommended diet includes black pepper, ginger, soup, turmeric, and fish that can warm and give energy.



Daily Practice


1. Legs should not be opened wide for fear of loose birth. Sitting together actually tightens the vaginal muscles in the long term to create a more meaningful relationship between husband and wife.


2. When lying down, do not move your body to the left and right at will. To keep the uterus in position, sleep on your back with a pillow on the left and right.


3. Mothers catch a cold easily during the day, so you need to wear long-sleeved shirts, tie your hair tightly (bunjut), wear tight socks, don't take a wet shower while your ear holes are stuffed with garlic. Big toe smeared with live turmeric. This practice avoids going crazy.


4.4. Don't neglect wearing a bra during abstinence because it is feared that breasts swollen with milk will sag and fall. Simple tips, use a nursing bra.


5. Apply a mixture of betel nut and lime juice on the stomach. Then, tightly tie the long bend from below the breast covering the lower back to the groin. Long bind was used for 44 days. The ingredients work to shrink the uterus, while the bentham flattens the abdominal skin and prevents the back from sagging.


6. For the first two weeks, avoid squatting while urinating as it is feared that the bladder will become loose and come out easily. It is better to use the toilet sitting and legs open moderately wide.


7. Avoid vigorous movement to and fro and avoid lifting heavy objects because it can hinder childbirth.


8. Good bath water should be warm water mixed with fragrant lemongrass, pandan leaves, seringan leaves, guava leaves, stone banana leaves, and galangal leaves.


9. After showering, apply pilis, that is, cultivate turmeric on the forehead and wear bentkung.


10. Practice burning with a hot furnace wrapped in noni leaves. Bentkunku makes it easier to perform the massage so that the uterus can easily return to its original place and reduce the pain during the massage.


11. The practice of massaging the whole body is done a week after giving birth for 3 days in a row. It is best to do after showering and kneeling.


12. Boil tangas ingredients such as gelugur acid, male salt, betel leaves, henna leaves, ginger and manjakani until boiling. Pick it up and place it under your feet so that the hot smoke rises to the vagina for about 20 minutes. This practice can also be done like a sauna. Cold water can be used as a vaginal wash. This practice works to heal wounds and stitches, tighten the private parts, shrink the uterus and the expanded muscles.


Well, there are many abstinence practices that need to be practiced. I tried to do my best and thank God 90% I got through it with perseverance! -_-"


I'm just upset because I failed to control my appetite effectively, hehe.. on the 43rd day, I ate a side dish of fried long beans made by my mother, I thought it was okay because my abstinence was about to end. As a story, the evening I continued to have lower back pain! I remember for a moment that it seemed to drag on until the morning. My father said, the effect of eating long beans - wind. I'm sorry I didn't get here to go to the emergency room at the hospital to get medicine. Don't talk about the pain, it's worse than childbirth.. I swear! I don't even want to wake up..


With that experience, I promised myself, for abstinence to come I must abstinence properly.. continue until abstinence is completely over so that the bitter event does not happen again..
